Recording mode

When inserting objects into a report, record mode appears to do nothing i.e. nothing is written in a script recording, is this normal?

Hi Ccimac,

Normal behavior for the Recording Mode can be found by searching "Recording Mode" under DIAdem Help->DIAdem NAVIGATOR->Search. Directly from the text (as well as in the attached screenshot), the help under DIAdem REPORT states that "DIAdem recording mode does not record interactive actions such as inserting, moving, or configuring graph objects." Does this answer your question? Have a great day and good luck!

Hi Ccimac,

I'll add to Jackie's comments to emphasize the <Ctrl+A> command listed as a note in the help.

If you turn on recording mode in SCRIPT, the parameters behind any dialog box that you interface with can be pushed to the SCRIPT recorder by using the hotkey <Ctrl+A>.  For REPORT, if you (for example) double-click a 2D-Axis system to open its configuration dialog and then press <Ctrl+A>, you'll get a list in SCRIPT of all the variables that represent the configuration of that axis system.  This makes it easier to programmatically change things in your REPORT templates.

As noted in the DIAdem Idea Exchange at ni.com/diademideas, we're working on an OO API for REPORT to make this even easier...
