Data Type conversion in Plugin

Hi,

I am reading in a ASCII data file. There is no any problem with reading the data in. But the issue is with the time and date channels. They get loaded seperately, as seperate channels. So I read the date channel and time channel as string data type, because when I specify as etime the channels are not loaded correctly.
Can anyone please help me out in setting the data type correctly?

I have attached the plugin and a data file.

Expecting for your earliest response.
Thanks.

Hi,

I was looking through the dataplugin and saw that you were also having issues with the names of your channels. I have written a dataplugin that will handle the channel names as well as the time formatting of the data time channel. I have written it so that the date and time are placed in one channel with the data type of time. Let me know if this works for you or if you have any questions about the plugin.

Thanks,

Hi Caroline,

Thanks a lot for your help, it works fine. But I see just one issue here, it takes the year as "0004" and not 04. how can this be corrected.?

Thanks,
Priya

Hi,

It appears that the format is taking "MM/DD/YYYY".  Simply set this to "MM/DD/YY" and it will read '04' instead of '0004'.
