Data Plug-In for Hioki Hi-Corder .mem files gives error message

I have several .mem files recorded on a Hioki 8860 HiCorder.  When attempting to load these files in DIAdem 10.1 using the Hioki HiCorder data plug-in, I get the error message "Error in line 76: subscript out of range 'oFile.Position'".  Is there a known issue with this plug-in or does it only work for certain Hioki models?

I've attached a sample .mem file for reference (extension changed to .txt).

Thanks.

Hi Craig,

I see this error, and am looking into this.  Meanwhile, can you try outputting your data in ASCII form and using the ASCII plugin?

David,

I can successfully export to ASCII and use those files so this is not a critical problem, but it would definitely be more convenient if the plug-in worked.

Hi Craig,

We recently updated the HIOKI-HiCORDER DataPlugin to handle several more 8000 series devices.  The new DataPlugin was posted to the www.ni.com/dataplugins website on June 7, 2007.

Check it out and let us know if you still have trouble,

Thanks, Brad.  I tried the updated plug-in and it works fine now.

Brad,

I may have spoken too soon when I said that the latest plug-in was working fine.  It successfully imports data without any error messages, but the data is not correct.  To see what I mean, please compare the attached examples.  I've found that the CSV data (exported from our HIOKI datalogger) does not match the .MEM file after being imported into DIAdem.  The HIOKI example is actually a .MEM file but I needed to change the extension to .TXT for the upload.

Hi Craig,

You're right, those values are off.  Interestingly, the first value of the first channel is correct, but all the rest are not, so I'm hopeful this is a setting in the DataPlugin that can be adjusted.  I have sent your files on to R&D for them to take a look at.

I'll let you know what they find,

Hi Craig,

R&D looked into why your posted file did not load correctly with the previous version of the Hioki DataPlugin, and they have made some significant improvements-- the data now looks good to me after a casual check of several values that used to be loaded incorrectly.

Please let us know how the data looks to you, and whether any other of your files still load incorrectly.

Cheers, and thanks for helping us debug,

Brad,

Thanks for the quick turnaround.  We tried the new plug-in and checked the data.  It looks good this time.
