I have this book, but I am running windows 7. When I run the CD, I get an error saying initialization failed.

I think you downloaded image file. Use daemon tool to extract the image

file. Then run setup file.

I'm running Windows 8.1 and also getting an unknown installation error when installing MultsiSim from the disc provided. Please help me!

No information is provided on this webpage about Windows 7. This page is linked to from the back cover of the 6th Edition of Sedra/Smith which was printed in 2010. Windows 7 was released in 2009. It’s now 2014.
