Dear reader,
I want to create a timing system concerning this I have a question. Is
it possible to write data that should be given out by a DAQ card in to
the buffer of the DAQ card and to programm the buffer like that, that
the DAQ card gives out the signals when a certain event occurs. The
event shall be a hardware triger generated by an FPGA card transmitted
via the start trigger port (wich comes from the start trigger slot) of
a PXI (PXI 1042) system.
Somebody told me that this is possible in generall. But the timing
system is time critical (in the dimenson of ns), that is why I want to
write the data in to a pre Buffer of the DAQ card. Is there a pre
buffer at all? ( I didnt find information's about that on the data
sheeds of the daq cards). Or is the data always written in to such a
buffer? What is all in all the limit for Analog output? Is it the
update rate which is written in the data sheeds of the DAQ cards (for
example 2,86 Ms/s for NI PXI 6259) or is it possible to make faster
output? What about digital output? The NI PXI 6259 for example has an
max source frequency for the timer/counter of 80MHZ. Can i perform
digital output with that freuquency?
Also I would like to know which is the fastest DAQ card (Analog and digital output) available?
Thanks a lot for the support.....best regards...Sebastian
