How do you access the counter input lines of the 6036e DAQcard when a SCXI-1000 is connected to it?

I know that there is some way to access the necessary pins for use with the counters in the 6036e but I haven't been able to figure it out.  I know the counters work as I have tested them without having the SCXI-1000 connected, but I need to be able to use both.

Thanks in advance.

Hi YellowJacket,

What modules are you currently using in your SCXI chassis?  A common way to access the counters is to use an SCXI-1180, which is a feedthrough for the unconditioned channels on the DAQ board or 6063e in your case.

Thanks

Ryan,

Thank you for the response, but we were able to solve our problem. We are using 4 scxi-1320s, and rather than give up analog data channels by swapping a 1320 for a 1180, we used a generic 50 pin ribbon cable (25X2 pins at .100 X .100" spacing) to tap into the SCXI-1349 and bring it to a homemade breakout box where we were able to easily access the counter pins. The problem was simply that we were trying to access the DIO lines instead of the digital counter lines.

Thanks!
