Chassis or DAQ Timer Calibration

I work in aviation and calibration is extremely important to us. Currently I have a small project that utilizes a cDAQ 9171 and a NI 9229. Our questions involves timer relationship between the chassis and the card itself.

Our questions is as follows:

Does the chassis a card is housed in need to have its timer calibrated when the card itself has a "includes an internal master timebase"?

Or worded another way:

Can we rely on just having the 9229 calibrated and ignore the chassis calibration process so long as we have LabView set to use the 9229 timer?
