Hello,
Situation
My goal is to implement the VFH algorithm onto my NXT for a university project. I have not started that yet but my supervisor advised that i would need to be able to send data to and from the NXT to the computer and back again via bluetooth. If you think this procedure is unecessary then please say as i'm running short of time.
Problem
I found this example, https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11110. I saved it and tried to get it to work. However i tried i kept getting this error, Error communicating with NXT Shell.
Possible solution: "Ensure your NXT brick has the NXT Shell program. In the NXT Preferences dialog box, set "Checking for Support Files on an NXT Brick" to "Check before every connection"
I did this and still didn't work.
Instruction on the example say:
"Steps to complete: Connect motors into ports A & B and communicate to the NXT using Bluetooth. Deploy the NXT code and run it, then run the Host code and play with the front panel to drive your NXT module."
What i did
1. In remote mode: I found my nxt, ran my program for the NXT_drive.vi.
2. In direct mode (i believe Main Appliance Instance): Clicked the run button on the PC_drive.vi.
This yielded nothing but the error stated above.
I found a thread where someone tried to fix this same issue (nearly 3 years ago) but they were hazy on the solution (wasn't mentioned), i did however follow all their attempts by running things in different orders and in remote and direct mode and so and so forth.
I'm currently using Labview 2009.
I tried this with another example, https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11109. Same issues as before.
If anyone could please help i'd be very grateful.
George
