How about this for a format?

I've been thinking about trying something a bit different.

We pick a subject (Error Handling, distribution, re-use, project sign-off etc) and everyone in the room has to contribute something to the discussion.

If people want to present slides, we get them up-front (so we keep it rapid), 3 slides max, 5 mins max <---

I think it may serve as a platform for people who haven't presented before, but also we could prod a subject from lots of different angles.

Thoughts/Comments?

I like it, a bit like themed lighting talks or 7x7 type format. I've never done one but I have heard good things.

It would probably be a better way to explore more of a subject that just getting a single talker as well.

Sounds like a good way of getting several different views on a subject and take a fresh look at something that you've 'just been doing it that way for years'.

I like the idea of keeping it rapid so we could hear a number of different views in a short time, maybe limiting the overall time for a subject would also prevent repetition.

Good idea about limiting the time Swinders. Maybe limit it to 30 mins and 6 speakers rather than everyone. I think the bias should be towards people who haven't spoken much before too.
