CSLUG June 2022

Hi Everyone,

I can confirm that we can host CSLUG at NI UK again on 28th June 2022!

I'll get the sign up going by the end of week but save the date for now.

As COVID is still a thing I appreciate there may be some concerns. What I am planning is:

  • I have asked for one of the larger training rooms rather than the boardroom so we can spread out more.
  • I still intend to stream the event as well for those who don't want to come in person.

There will also be some restrictions from NI as well:

  • I need to provide a register of attendees in advance so please sign up once the page is up. I need to provide names a week in advance.
  • Reception may not be manned, so I may need some help from someone letting people in!
  • There is no coffee machine in the common area anymore. We can access the machine in the staff area except between 12 and 1pm.
  • They won't provide lunch but I'll look into getting some Subway platters in or something similar.

A little more complicated than normal but I am looking forward to being able to speak face to face again!

As usual, I'm for presenters. Please let me know if you have something interesting you would like to talk about.

Cheers,

James

Hi James.

Thanks for getting this organized. Once you have a list of presenters/sessions would you be able to post it?
I'll have to sell this internally before I can commit to attending 🙂

Cheers
Andreas Palmstrom.

I can review my trip to the USA (NI Connect etc), if you want.

I only attended 1 keynote and 1 presentation during the main event, but the partner program meetings were interesting.

It clarified a lot in my mind.....

I would be interested in finding out if people consider attending NI Connect worthwhile.

It depends... is the catch-all response to that

Hi Steve,

That sounds great - thanks!

Thinking about NI Connect I could do an intro to gRPC - what is it and why are NI talking about it? I could also demo the LabVIEW tool though I've had limited success with it so far.

I have a requirement to use that in a project, so that would be useful

Hi Adrian,

Sorry - I thought I had replied - that sounds good to me!

So we will have:

* Adrian - Working with the Raspberry Pi

* Steve Watts - NI Connect Review

* James McNally - What is gRPC and why are NI talking about it?

Cheers,

James
