I am glad that worked for you. I had a setup to read raw CANframes using CANalyzer and CANcaseXL. These are vector products. By looking at the frames, you can see it transmits only three or four bytes (depending on what you are trying to do) of data. By setting that global, it fills the unused bytes with zeros. I think NI should change the default value of that global, just to make it easier for everyone.

As you may have noticed, my posts date from more than a year ago. This issue was part of my senior project at engineering school, so you took me back in time to try to remember what was the problem back then.
The main problem was that one of the precompiled VIs of the ADCS version I had, most probably the open.vi, had some sort of bug and wasn't working properly. People at NI fixed it for us and it worked perfectly after that.
