Robo and My RIO DIO DIO output drive

I'm helping a professor who is considering using either a My RIO or RoboRIO for a telescope automation project. I checked the specs, and the DIO ports are LV TTL, and have a max current source/sink of a mere 4mA. Not much there.

How do users typically drive solid state relays or other real world switching devices with these things? Some I/O expander like a Measurement Computing SSR board that includes a darlington buffer?

Thanks,

BG
