DAQ reading error analog input voltage

The SCB-68 is very robust and there's not much there to damage. You can easily check that with an ohmeter. Did you also check the cable between the DAQ card and the SCB-68? If they both check out okay, perhaps your local NI Sales Engineer can help with a loaner.

Hello Leo,

Have you solved this problem? I am currently having the same problem with my PCI 6221 and can not solve it. I always get -10.6V or +10.6 as analog input voltage whatever the input is. I need your feedback on this. Could you please tell me what you have done to solve the problem?

Thanks.

Hi Chakko,

please do some test which is explained in the posts before. if you always get the same result, it means you get the same with me. Finally I affirmed that my PCI is damage. then I sent to NI to get my PCI repaired. And in the report they gave to me, they confirmed too that my PCI is damage and need some components to be replaced.

Hey chakko,

What do you have hooked up to your card when reading these voltages back? A 9V battery is a good test to verify if your card is physically damaged or not.  Use test panels (to ensure no coding errors) and configure to read in a differential signal.  You can get the device pinouts in MAX and make sure that you have your battery hooked up to AI0- and AIO+. If this does not return a 9V reading, then your card has been damaged and should be sent in for repair.

Thank you Leo and Cole,

@Leo

I guess that is what I will eventually do with this card. I do not have much time though....

@Cole

I do not use any terminal blocks connected to the daq card. I am trying to use the direct output of the card (through a female DSUB 37 connector pins). So I guess `AI0-` is the `AI GND` pin and `AI0+`is the `AI 0` pin. Am I right?

Thanks again...

I"m not sure what exact problem you have or what you mean by frequencty happened. Nor do I know what confirmation you want. The only thing I can see in the document (please don't post proprietary files in the future) is that you setup a differential measurement. The output is single ended, I believe so why don't you configure the input the same as the output and try again.

I this a new device or is it like in this thread that it was used. I'm going to assume that since you hijacked this thread, that you are a student working with a used device. It is certainly possible that it was damaged by prior misuse. You can check with NI and see if it is in warranty.

Thanks a lot for your help!!! Someone has used it before and this is my first time to use it. I just start to check it in right way or not, unfortunately, I can't get the proper input value. Do you means that the hardware was damaged or how can I solve it?

yes, your hardware is damaged.

dont get upset, it's so easy to solve. contact your local representative of NI, ask the procedure of service. and then prepare at least USD 300-500 for service fee. if you are ready, then send your hardware to them so that they have your hardware serviced. 2-4 weeks later, you will get your hardware back plus warranty.

done. problem solved. 🙂
