using a .dll to control a usb dongle

Hi,

I'm currently trying to use a .dll of C functions to talk a USB dongle containing a short-range transceiver (not Bluetooth). We've never used embedded C commands in Labview before so I was wondering if anybody has an example of this working. Example code is always the best thing to work with we find.

Alternatively, are there application notes available?

The best place to start is by reading "Using External Code in LabVIEW". This is part of the LabVIEW Bookshelf accessed from the help menu. There are a couple of shipping examples as well. Open the Example Finder and from the Browse tab, expand Communicating with External Applications>Using External Code>Integrating DLLs. No two DLLs are the same and some parameter types do not match LabVIEW data types. So, if you have problems, re-post with the function prototype information. Presumably, the dongle maker has provided you with a list of function calls and their descriptions.

http://www.esecutech.com

They offer free Technical support and also Unikey price is reasonable.

I hope this helps.
