Problems using filters on my signal

Hi guys, I am brining in a signal using the Daq Assistant, and am trying to use a smoothing filter to reduce random noise. However, it appears that the filter is demolishing the signal (all of my values are staying within 1/100th or so of my load cell calibration constant. My guess is that this problem has to do with the wire type (it is currently dynamic), but I am not certain.

If it is the wire type, how can I go about creating a functioning signal that isn't the obnoxious dynamic type?

Can you show us some sample data?  (Just put an indicator on the DAQ Assistant output, run the vi and change the indicator to a constant)
