Hello,
I'am trying to communicate with ANRITSU MS9710B Optical Spectrum Analyzer via GPIB. Anritsu provides VISA-based VIs for all functions. When trying to initialize the instrument (by use of VISA Open), I'm getting the following error: -1073807202, that is "a code library required by VISA could not be located or loaded".
I can communicate with the instrument using the Measurement and Automation Explorer, and have recently installed the newest version of NI-488 driver (Version 2.2 for GPIB-USB-B).
I'm using Labview 8.0.
Where can I find the missing code library?
Thanks in advance!!!
Freddy

You need NI-VISA which is not the same thing as NI-488.2. You should have it on the LabVIEW driver CD, the CD that came with the GPIB card, or here.

hm...yes indeed! I had actually installed NI-VISA, but MAX indicates that it was not properly done. I'll get rid of it and re-install the VISA drivers,...that might just be it! I'll let you know....in the meantime:
Thanks for your quick answer!
