Setting e-mail module for gmail?

Hello All...

Have a project requiring alert emails.  Have DasyLab 11 and are able to get the email to work going through Outlook.  We would really rather not run Outlook on our platform if possible.  When we try to configure the email module for gmail we see errors suggesting a configuration problem with the email module.  We have used all the various options available in the config table for the module but to no avail.  Any thoughts on how to get the module to work with gmail?

Hello Bill,

(1) DASYLab 11.x have also the SMTP send method, please use this. MAPI is an old send system via local e-mail client program.

(2) Is google e-mail MAPI compatible? -> It isn't a desktop client. No web based email manager can be MAPI compliant. Read also under http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=29fa093f3e9ba0c7&hl=en + http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messaging_Application_Programming_Interface

I cannot figure out the correct settings for SMTP.

I have the POP activated for my GMail account, and I successfully receive and send email using Outlook.

I cannot find any combination of login settings that works with the ports listed.
