Software Update 11.0.0.2 for NI Circuit Design Suite

The latest software update for NI Circuit Design Suite 11.0 and 11.0.0.1 is now available via NI Update Service. This update (11.0.0.2) is available to all 11.0 and 11.0.0.1 editions of Multisim and Ultiboard, and contains 24 defect-fixes. The update is applicable to all editions including Power Pro, Full, Base, Education and Student, and installs on top of a pre-existing 11.0 or 11.0.0.1 installation. This is a cumulative patch, and therefore includes both 11.0 and 11.0.0.1 fixes.

The preferred method of installation is via NI Update Service:

1. Close any open sessions of Multisim/Ultiboard
2. Go to Start > All Programs > National Instruments > NI Update Service
3. Select Check for Updates
4. Select the checkbox for NI Circuit Design Suite 11.0.0.2 and click Install

Update service will download the update, and proceed to launch the 11.0.0.2 installer.

Alternatively, if NI Update Service is unavailable, the 11.0.0.2 update can be manually downloaded from the Drivers and Updates website.

After completing the installation, the Help > About Multisim dialog will display version 11.0 (11.0.458).

Windows 7 x64, installed on top of patch 11.0.0.1 and during the information got an error saying unable to access permission to modify multim.exe at it's default install path.  It allowed me to "retry" and it took it, finished normally.  I started multisim, and no problems "appear" to this point, not sure if it really updated correctly.  In the about screen shows current rev, but still not sure if others will have the same error.

I'm not sure why you saw the unable to access permission. If you see the right version number in the About box, then it should have updated correctly. You can check the following if you wanted to be absolutely sure.

  1. In Windows Explorer, browse to the installation directory (most likely C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Circuit Design Suite 11.0).
  2. Make sure the view is set to Details (third icon from the right)
  3. Right click the column header, select More..., and check File version
  4. A column for File version will appear, and you should see 11.0.458.0 for all of the DLLs

Garret...........all executables and dll's all show the correct version value of .458.  Like I said, it allowed me to "retry" and it seemed to take it.  So I'm not really sure what the deal is, but apparently I'm the only one who has seen it thus far and no incident of malfunction.......yet.   Regards,  Chris

I have the Multisim and Ultiboard Full Edition,  the update service updated my software a couple days ago and it now shows 11.0.458.

This morning I'm trying to do a board design.  I started my schematic then transferred to ultiboard.  I then added components to my schematic and tried to forward annotate to the same ultiboard file.  It won't update ultiboard with the new net file and components - I get no change on the ultiboard side regardless of what I add or remove from the schematic.

I tried restarting my system, no good.  I tried deleting the ultiboard net file in the directory - no good.  I deleted all the ultiboard files and tried a new transfer - ultiboard sits blank and nothing happens.  At that point I could start a new ultiboard design but there seems to be no communication between multisim and ultiboard.

Since upgrading to 11 I've had nothing but bugs transferring layouts, prior to the update I would always have to go into ultiboard netlist editor and delete component nets that weren't removed with new forward annotations.  This is holding up my work, please advise.

I closed ultiboard while writing that post.  I just tried to transfer again (after deleting all ultiboard files) - this time it created the ultiboard file with all the components.  Then I added a component and tried forwarding and same problem - no new component in ultiboard..

Thanks for the feedback. I have not heard of this issue before, so it's hard for me to recommend a solution through the forums. I recommend filing a support request through the Service Request Manager - that way they can give you one-on-one assistance to pinpoint the issue.
