PXI CAN 8461 not showing in MAX after installation (using Real Time)

I have installed the supplied 2.2v NI-CAN software (host pc runs Windows 2000). I then uploaded this software to the PXI chassis (which runs in RealTime only). The NI-CAN 2.2 is confirmed installed on the PXI chassis, but even by refreshing in MAX, I do not see the card listed in devices/interfaces.

I do see a "Channels" in Data Neighborhood listed, but there seems to be limited functionality with it. Is there something I am missing? Thanks.

This is actually the expected behavior. Please take a look at the provided help file (MAX » Help » Help Topics » NI-CAN » MAX Help) and navigate to the 'LabVIEW Real-Time (RT) Configuration' section for detailed information.

In short:

• The remote CAN devices will be configured through another utility (MAX » Tools » NI-CAN » RT Hardware Configuration)
  
• To download CAN channel information, right-click on 'CAN Channels' on the host system and select 'Send to RT System'
