myRIO & Data dash board

Hello,

So I am currently thinking about a project using myRIO. I'd love to be able to use a touch screen tablet as the UI.  I understand this is possible using data dash board (network shared variables).

My question(s) is:

Can I achieve this without additional networking hardware?

Can I create an ad-hoc wireless network between the myRIO and tablet (iPad or other)?

Hey Nick,

Unfortunately you can't host a network on the myRIO. So you would need to use it alongside a wireless router and connecting the myRIO and ipad to the router.

I think some iPads may have the ability to host networks but this is outside my area of experience but definitely worth looking into (I've seen it done on android devices)
