Error code -2147417851 with Property Excel ActiveX under LabVIEW 7.1

Hi,

I develop an application under LabVIEW 7.1 and Windows XP. This application works on Excel files.

I do not have the Office modules.

I used the examples (ExcelExample.llb) provided by LabVIEW to build my application.  To each time that there is a node of property on an object activeX Excel, LabVIEW turns over me the error -2147417851. I sought on the forum of the ideas but all the found examples do not function either (even problem).

Have you an idea to help me. Thanks a lot.

Thank you for the link.

I had not thought of seeking the error code in the forum.  On the other hand, the solution suggested on the link does not change anything.  I always have the same error code.

I perhaps did not understand the explanation well then I will continue to seek.

Still thank you.

I found my side the following forum:

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=37597&requireLogin=False

I tested all the solutions suggested by the link of ien_fr and that above - I use Excel97 and Windows XP.  If somebody manages to make function this simple VI NI, that he says to us how he made please?

I already developed an application with Excel2000 under LabVIEW 6.1 and Windows 98/2000, without changing VI NI nor the properties of my VIs.  It goes perfectly.

Thank you.

Hi,

I have LabVIEW 7.1 and Windows XP.

I have try your exemple and it’s work correctly on my computer. I join an example that they write data into a excel sheet. (and it’s work on my computer)

Let me know, if you have some questions.

Thank you Christophe NIF for your answer.  I tested your VI:  it does not go on my PC.

Perhaps it is Office97 (too much old - I normally will pass to Office 2003 at the latest in a month).  Or then my PC which needs a good formatting.  It is perhaps still an option of LabVIEW but I doubt it because I did not change anything criticism.  In any case thanks to your assistance, I know that I must seek elsewhere than in LabVIEW.

If I find, I would put it on the forum.  Thank you

Hello,

I did not see that you had Excel 97, ActiveX controls for Excel is not the same between Excel 97 and Excel 2000 on 2003.
If you install Office 2003, that will resolve your problem, or you can use the good function of activeX for Excel 97, to see the link below they have an example for Excel 97.

Thank you very much. It goes very good.
I could develop my application under Excel 97 while waiting to have a more recent Office.

I have other questions to ask about LabVIEW and Excel97 but today, I must go to work in customers' compagny.  When I would have to seek my side a little, either I will give you my discoveries or I will ask it to you.

Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you

Hi,

Unfortunately, even if the VIs of Christophe make it possible to work on Excel, I am not able to use them like I want.

I continue this discussion in the LabVIEW forum to have more answers:

Thank you Christophe for your assistance.  We can continue to discuss on this point on the other forum.
