Synchronization of PXI-4462 ADC and PXI-6723 Analog Output Card

Hi,

We have recently purchases the PXI 1033 chassis and 2 PXI-4462 ADC and 1 PXI-6723 Analog output cards. We are trying to synchronise these 3 devices across the PXI backplane but the manuals and forum posts that i have studied do not suffice.

How can i synchronise these devices? I have used some of the example code on the web, posted for synchronising other cards and tried to modify these to suit our cards, however i cannot find a suitable clock to synchronise these devices. Can you please tell me which clock (PXI-Star, 10MHz, Onboard Clock, PXICLK10) are suitable for this? Looking at the PXI 1033 manual it mentions using the PXICLK10 for synchronising multiple devices on the backplane. This appears to work for the 4462 cards but not with the AO card, PXI6723. Its manual mentioning using the RTSI7 but I cant see this available for the 4462 cards. There are many options to examine and many triggers but I think that synch multiple devices can be done more easily with the chassis but I cant see how to do that at the minute,

Hi Chris,

You should be able to synchronize your devices using the PXI_CLK10.  Take a look at this example I modified and try to get it working with just one 4462 and your 6723.  If you can get them synced, you can add in your other 4462 and just wire up the same reference clock signal.
