What is the complete part number for Compass White powder paint?

In the KnowledgeBase there is a question (document ID 2LUGBNON) regarding the color formulas for the PXI chassis, which lists the Sherwin Williams part numbers for matching the NI Compass White color.

We would like to match this color on the front panels of our PXI modules, using the "Fine Texture - Powder Coat" method mentioned in the KB article.  The paint part number listed in the article is "SHERWIN WILLIAMS P/N 01T-1548/UWT2".  However, when we tried to get a panel painted with this paint, the company that paints our panels told me that this was an incomplete part number.  I was told that the UWT2 in the part number has to be followed by a hyphen, a letter, and four numbers, which specify the exact color.

I have not been able to find the rest of this part number anywhere.  What is the full part number required to order this paint?

Thank you.

Our paint vendor is telling us the same thing - that the Sherman WIlliams Compass White part number provided in the document ID 2LUGBNON is incomplete. Did anyone respond to your post with the correct part number?

The KnowledgeBase article in question has been updated with new part numbers.  Take a look at the article again and see if it has the numbers you need.

Thanks Chad,

But our paint vendor is telling us that the partner number for the powder coat paint is still missing four digits.

The article has the part number  - SHERWIN WILLIAMS P/N UWT270005 (POWDURA POLYESTER URETHANE POWDER).

Our vendor says this part number needs 4 digitis at the end to be complete - P/N UWT270005-xxxx

If you look at the other paint colors mentioned in the updated article, they all have these extra 4 digits.

We ended up having to send a SCXI chassis filler plate to our paint vendor so they could try to color match the Compass White.

Regards,
Don

Here is what we found out about this paint color:

The correct part number is Sherwin Williams number UWT2-70003.  (We were looking into the "Fine Texture, Powder Coat" variety)

We found out that this part number was formulated at their Arlington, TX plant but never produced.  It was experimental only.

The company that paints our panels was able to get a 2-3 pound sample, and we had a panel painted with it.  There is a slight texture and glossiness difference with the National Instruments chassis, but it isn't really noticeable unless you hold the two right up next to each other.  The color is an exact match.

This paint is only available with a 50-pound minimum order.
