Is it possible to get Analog Comparison Event signal by setting a analog triggered dummy Counter task?

Hi,
I am using PCI-6251 card which support the analog trigger function. In the manual, it says that the Analog Trigger Circuitry Output connects to AI, AO and Counter circuitry. But when I set a dummy Counter input task along with a Start Trigger block (source: APFI0), it gave me the run-time error message that the property doesn't support the value. (The same way works for AI task). I searched many many examples, it seems that the Analog Comparsion Event is only associated with AI and AO tasks. Because I have to preserve the AI and AO for other VIs, I have to get the Analog Comparison Event from the dummy analog triggered counter task. Can anyone give me a hand? Thanks.

Dear Claude,

Thanks for your question. i tried a PCI-6251 device with the Start Trigger Block (Source APFI0).
This works perfectly by me. You can have a look at the example Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk-Analog Start.vi in the Examples Finder under
Hardware Input and Output/DAqmx/Analog Measurements/Voltage/.

Hi, Nick_CH:

Thanks for your reply. I know it works well for both AI and AO tasks. What you tried and the example you refered are just to use Start Trigger for Analog Input task. But what I described in my problem is to use Start Trigger (analog trigger with source APFI0) for "Counter" tasks. I can't make it work to analog trigger a counter task. Could you please verify it again for me? Thanks.

Claude.

Dear ClaudeWang,

Sorry, I did not really understand what you wanted to do. But, unfortunately, the operation you are trying to perform is not supported.
It not possible to have an analog Triger with a counter task.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply...although it doesn't support, at least I know the limitation of the card. 🙂

Best,

Claude.
