Best USB configuration for multiple SCXI-1600's

Hello,

We have four SCXI-1001 chassis's with various modules, (1102B's, 1163's, ect).  Each SCXI-1001 has an SCXI-1600 module installed.  The SCXI-1600's USB connections run into a 4-port USB hub.  The USB hub then connects to the LabView computer.  As our system has grown, it is becoming very sluggish.  Our speed is down to approximately 1Hz, (to access everything).  Would we gain any speed by running individual USB lines to the LabView computer?   Is there any other configuration that would improve the system performance?  Thanks for your help.

Absolutely!

If you are trying to communicate to several different chassis thru one hub, then it will greatly reduce your bandwidth and thereby greatly reduce your sampling speed.

Try using different USB ports for each chassis, if you're still noticing slow behavior, and then let us know a little more about your system, what you are doing, and what sort of rates you are getting.
