HMK Drive

New to motion Control here. Recently we have been contacted by the oil industry who have been using Masterfil (Model S5000-A 8HD P/V Poppet Servo Drive Machine) products. One of the Drives is malfunctioning.

DRIVE:
HMK
TYPE: IRT1318.EMC
SER. NO. C12817H.12438
Type: IRT 1318 - MONOBLOCK
CONT. MAX. CURRENT 17.4/34.7 Arms
SER. NO. 8316.100.13180/12438

MOTOR:
SEM (HIGH RESPONSE SERVO MOTOR)
SEM LONDON SE26 5AS
TYPE: HR142E6-130S
NO.: W45566
C.STALL TORQUE: 16 NM 10.5 A
MAX: 5400 RPM 700 V 53 A
FEEDBACK RES. F00 IP 64/65 IC 400
BRAKE 24 VDC, 18 NM C98-78044

We have to re-automate the machine that fills 8 bottles per minute, so we might need a new drive (infeed, feedback) mechanism. The Servo Motor is runnig, only the drive has to be replaced. The servo helps pull out a specified volume of oil, and then fills it into the 8 bottles. I will appreciate if someone could advise which model of drives will fit the above motor specifications? And then what type of hardware (NI or other) will be economic and applicable for the control of the drive and other signals?? And where to look for further help??

Your urgent response and help shall be highly appreciated.

I'm not sure, but I feel that you can use Delta Tau , Geo Brick Universal Drive with inbuilt DSP based motion controller. I think it supports labview (please confirm) with a package of 400 VIs for motion control and digital i/o (PLC) control. Its got better features than most motion controllers and also its rugged and takes less time for installation as the drive is already interfaced with the controller. Also the connectors and cables are standard ones which are readily available and cheaper. Check out www.deltatau.com .

You may also want to look at the NI Advisors for Motion page it has a list of 3rd party drives that have been tested to work with our products.
