is it possible to use measurement studio for Haupapauge WinTV 878/9 Video Driver

Hi. I have Haupapauge WinTV 878/9 Video Driver installed on my computer. I am trying to write a program in VB 2008. When I call for AxImaq. Start(). The program shows an error saying "Interface not found". Is it possible to use Imaq with hardware whixh do not come from NI ? or Am I supposed to buy[:(] some new NI card so as to use measurement studio.

Hi vjuno,

I am not entirely sure what the problem you are having is.  I could not find any information about the WinTV 878/9 but from your post it sounds like it is some type of driver.  You did mention IMAQ in your post so I will explain how it works.  We have two main IMAQ drivers.  IMAQ its self works with any of our frame grabbers (the PCI boards you have to buy).  We also have IMAQdx which should work with firewire and Gige cameras.  Both of these should work in Measurement Studio just fine.  When you get an error like “Interface not found” it makes me think you either don’t have a camera attached, it is not being addressed correctly, or it does not meet the standards for the driver.

Hello Adam.

Thank you for your reply. We have a Hauppauge 878 board. And I think that is one of the old analogue one. The camers is already there and it works fine when I use the activex control in VB6. But it does not work in .NET. I can only guess that IMaq does not support my board.

Adam, can you please also let me know if I have to buy Ni-IMAQdx separately or can I get it with Measurement Studio?

Hi vjuno,

You are correct NI-IMAQ will not support your board.  It will only work with our frame grabbers.   As far as your other question yes you have to buy NI-IMAQdx separately.  It is not included in Measurement Studio.
