Difference between ONBOARD and SYSTEM Acquisition ?

Hi all,

When configuring IMAQ session we can choose between ONBOARD and SYSTEM memory...

Could anybody explain the difference, give information about which kind of application require which type ?
Or maybe a link to some documentation about this 😮 ?
