Next CVI 8.5 update/fix

Can anyone give an estimate when the next CVI update will be?  The overlapped graph/chart control bug is holding up at least two of our software updates that have been fatally cripped by it... but 8.5 also fixed some bugs that we had been working around so going backward isn't a favorable option either.

It will probably still be a couple of months, or so. If that is too long, let me know, and we can try to create an unofficial patch for you.

It would help me a lot if you could provide an unofficial patch for the overlapped-chart-draw bug.  I have two difference charting applications with end-of-march deadlines and I'm not looking forward to explaining why most of the features have been disabled waiting on updates".  I will likely be able to send updates when the official fix is released.

I agree with gvan. The overlapped chart bug is killing our ability to get new releases out to our customers.

Martin, Greg,

We'll have a patch available in a couple of days, or so. When we do, I'll post a link here in this thread.

Martin, Greg:

You can find a self-extracting download for the patch here. Let me know how it works out.

If you want to deploy an application to another computer, make sure you rebuild any distributions that you might have already built, and make sure that the distribution includes the CVI run-time engine. When you do, it should automatically include the patched version of the run-time engine. If you are not using the CVI Create Distribution tool, then you'll need to explicitly run this executable on any computer where you want to run your application.

Even after you install the patch, the CVI ADE's About Box will continue to show its version as 8.5.0.279, but if you navigate to c:\windows\system32\cvirte.dll, this file should indicate that its version is 8.5.0.280.

Hello all,

I just found out that the link that I posted earlier is probably temporary. It might not be available in a few days. If it isn't, please try this link instead.
