IDE Error when editing a Distribution (builder)

Mert,

Is that dll based from the recent 8.5.1 release or 8.5.0? or does that matter?  I'm dependent on some of the fixes and features adds made in 8.5.1.

It is 8.5.0, but I believe everything will work even if you have a 8.5.1 installation (possibly, some labels/messages may appear incorrectly). Specifically, this DLL only affects the IDE, so if you depend on features/bug fixes in the runtime engine, they will still be there.

Also, note that this DLL does not have a fix for this issue. There is no reason to use it beyond generating a debug log to help us. You should just swap it with your installed version temporarily.

Mert,

I've switch my dll, but as you mentioned, there are are quite a few messages and labels that appear incorrectly.  I don't not get this distribution build error very often (because it's intermittent and I don't edit distributions all the time) so I'm not going to leave it installed.  If I remember, I'll swap it back in when I am building/editing some distributions and have some time to experiment.

What does the dll log? and should I post only after getting the error?

If you can reproduce the error popups after a few tries or so, I'd ask that you switch out the DLL, reproduce the error, then close CVI and post the log. If it's not that reproducible for you, don't worry about it. If the problem does start happening to you with some frequency later on, see if you can get a log.

The modified DLL logs information throughout the calls that load the images for the file browser items. Please only post a log after seeing the error popups described in this thread.

The link to our FTP site I gave in a previous post has since gone stale. I'm posting the zipped files here to make them available again.
