I have registered both Labview & Labview FPGA on both my PC and the PXI chassis.
However, when I try to compile my code I get this error message:
ERROR:Xst:1531 - The evaluation period for this evaluation software has expired.
Per the guidelines of the Evaluation Agreement, which was shipped to you
along with the Evaluation CDs, this software will no longer operate.
We are eager to assist you as you conclude your evaluation of the Xilinx
solution. Your local Field Applications Engineer or salesperson is available
to answer any questions or to assist you in the purchase of an annual
software license. You may also contact Xilinx directly at eval@xilinx.com
Thank you for evaluating the Xilinx solution. We appreciate your interest in
Xilinx and we look forward to earning your confidence and your business.
ERROR:Xflow - Program xst returned error code 1. Aborting flow execution...
I wasn't aware that I need to purchase something extra on top of Labview FPGA. Is this a bug?

Hi Tom,
When you say you have registered LabVIEW and LabVIEW FPGA on your PC and a PXI chassis, do you have an activated copy of both LabVIEW and LabVIEW FPGA on both systems or does one machine just have the Compile Server installed? If you are attempting to compile a VI written on one machine on a machine with just the Compile Server, you will need to activate the Compile Server through the NI License Manager by going to Start » All Programs » National Instruments » NI License Manager.
You should not need to purchase anything other than the LabVIEW FPGA Module. If both machines have activated versions of LabVIEW and the LabVIEW FPGA Module, let me know and we will work on determining why this is occurring.

Hi Tom,
I have a couple more questions for you. Since you have LabVIEW and the LabVIEW FPGA Module installed and activated on both machines, do you get this error on both machines when trying to compile code or on just one machine? Also, did you ever have just the compile server installed on one machine and then install the LabVIEW FPGA Module later?
When you activated the LabVIEW FPGA Module, had the evaluation period expired or did you activate right after you installed the module? You might try just going into the NI License Manager, deactivating the LabVIEW FPGA Module and then reactivating it to see if this resolves the evaluation period error. Have you ever been able to compile with this version of LabVIEW FPGA or has this error always been present?

- I get the error on both machines.
- I never installed the compile server separately, that I am aware of. I installed Labview, then the Labview FPGA module.
- I did not activate Labview FPGA until after the 30 day trial expired. I suspect this is where the problem lies.
- This error just started to occur. I used the trial successfully for 30 days. This is the first time I tried it since registering after the 30 day trial expired.
- I deactivated Labview FPGA, then reactivated. I still have the same problem.

Hi TomC_NGC,
Activating LabVIEW FPGA after the trial period does not affect its function. Can you post a screenshot of what you are getting now?

Hi Tom,
Please try the following:
1. Uninstall the FPGA Module through Control Panel>>Add/Remove Programs
2. Remove the Xilink folder in C:\NIFPGA85.
3. Reinstall the FPGA Module.
Hope this helps.

Hi Tom,
Before you go through and do an uninstall and reinstall, would it be possible to get a screenshot of your activation window for LabVIEW FPGA from the License Manager? It's possible reinstalling the module will fix the error, but we would really like to know what is causing the error as I have tried to reproduce the error unsuccessfully.
I installed an evaluation version of LabVIEW 8.6 and the LabVIEW FPGA Module 8.6 and then set my system clock forward the 30 days until I was prompted that I had to activate or close LabVIEW. I activated and tried a compilation and it was successful. I would think if it was a corrupt license file or something, this would only happen on one machine and not both the PC and PXI computers. Is there anything you can think of outside of this order that might have caused anything unusual?

Is this the screenshot you wanted to see?
This is from one of the PCs. This PC also had Labview 8.5.1 installed previously. The other PC with the same problem does not.
