Application builder keeps aking me for a distribution that I no longer have when I tell it that I no longer have the distribution it let me pick the labview disks and driver disks. Then it asks me for the same distribution again. What do I do to clear the chached distributions that were with this application that I no longer have? Is there an easy way to remove this?
Labview 8.6.1

I had the same problem, but it got taken care of when I had to wipe my hard drive because of a virus. People who are careless where they stick their USB drives are no longer allowed near my development machine!
If you find an answer to the distribution problem, I'd love to hear it. Who knows when it will pop up again...

Hey Ben,
Thanks for responding. I was aware as to why I get the errors. I read through the attached forums that you sent and I had seen most of them already. It looks like 8.6 is different for the registry. When I went there all of the links were to the c:\program files\national instrument\shared\product cache directory. I did not see one entry that was to a different location.
I looked through the product cache directory but nothing seemed obvious as to saved cache locations there either. I was succesful at getting a different comeputer to make this installer so it has to do with just my computer and the stored locations. Do I have to uninstall and reinstall Labview to get these locations to go away on my computer?

aeastet,
Uninstalling and Reinstalling LabVIEW will probably clear up this issue for you, but it isn't the only way.
What distribution are you missing? Is it listed in the ProductCache Registry?

I can't remember all the details but in my case it looked as if LabVIEW were looking for a file that was part of an old, completely unrelated application that I had built. The two apps were both very simple did not share any files or subVIs (other than those in vi.lib). I ended up installing LV on my laptop and doing builds there for a few days before having to wipe my development box. After the wipe, it has worked perfectly. I wish I'd taken better notes to help you track this down...

aeastet,
Which distribution are you missing? Can you reinstall the drivers that it is looking for?

I had similar problem....
I had DAQmx 8.5 on my PC. later i installed an application (built on some other PC) that carries DAQ mx8.6 version. this upgraded DAQmx.
Later i tried to build an application on this PC. It started asking for the distribution of the application iinstalled some time back.
What i did was. I installed DAQmx 9.0 using Device Drivers CDs.
and the problem is not there now......
