labview unresponsive after edit items sleceted in 8.2.1

I have just upgraded Labview 8.2.1, I was trying to edit an enum control while making an Instrument driver when I found this issue.

I have created a new blank vi placed an enum control on the front panel, right click on the control and selet edit items... The vi will then "freeze", the CPU usage jumps right after the menu selection then goes to down. However the vi cannot be closed or edited, the only way to close the vi is to use the task manager to end labview. When this is done the prompt to save changes comes up.

Has anyone seen this issue?

Yep!

just got same problem today! was extremely surprised.

but the computer unfreezed as i pressed several times the escape button. tried again several times, and most of the times it was ok.

this is not the first bug of Labview 8.2 i discover. one other one was crash of labview if one tries to put a probe at the output of "array to matrix"

Hey Andrew and Gabi,
That's strange, I cannot reproduce either of these issues.  If I create a new VI, drop an enum on the front panel, then right-click and go to Edit Items, it opens the Item configuration box without a problem.  Also, if I place a new array on the block diagram, wire it into an Array to Matrix, create an indicator for the Matrix, and then try to place a probe on that wire, it works just fine.  Are there some steps that I'm missing?  Can either of you post VIs here that will help me reproduce the behavior?  Also, possibly repairing your installation of LabVIEW could have a positive effect.

Hei Brian,

i have tried to reproduce these bugs in a new vi, they do not occur. it might be related to a more evolved vi with lots of other operations.

by the way i have a new bug to report. i wrote it in this thread:
