Hi Ben,
I have been investigating your problem for you and my initial thoughts are that there is no Keithley 6487 driver which does not utilise the Interchangeable Virtual Instruments (IVI) driver. The latest 6487 driver on the Keithley website (ke6485.exe) uses the IVI, as I'm sure you are already aware. I will continue to investigate the problem and will let you no as soon as I have some more information for you.
In the meantime I would like to learn more about your application. Why are you trying to avoid using the IVI driver and are you using any National Instruments (NI) software?

Hi Ben,
I continued my search for a Keithley 6487 driver set that does not utilise the IVI driver, unfortunately with no success. It appears that officially, no such driver exists. It may be that somebody has unofficially constructed such a driver in LabVIEW, but unfortunately I can not point you in the right direction.
Sorry for the bad news.

Hi Christian,
Thank you very much for your time and effort with this issue. In response to your earlier question i am running Labview 8.6 and wish to avoid using the Keithley IVI package as the system administrator is unwilling to install it. I have now managed to resolve this issue by writing VISA commands to operate several of the basic functions, although i doubt these will be as capable as those supplied by Keithley.
Many Thanks
Ben
