Error when Configurring Agilent 83250B Card for LabView

In our labs at DeVry University - Chicago we have 83250B PCI GPIB
cards installed in our computers. We would like to automate the test equipment
(Agilent/HP Scopes, Function Generators, Power Supplies...) in
our labs using LabView software.

I referenced the following links below to configure things:

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=58953&requireLogin=False

http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/5990-3731EN.pdf

But when I enable the passport option. (Tools -> NI-VISA -> Passport Editor or
Tools -> VISA Options -> Passports)

And place a check by NIVisaTulip.dll- VISA Library Passport for Tulip
the click "SAVE".

I get the following error: "An unknown error occured while trying to apply the
new settings".

See attached to view a screenshot of the error.

Please advise on what needs to be done to resolve this issue.

Thanks,
Patrick Harris

Hi,

What version of NI-VISA are you using? I would update your VISA driver to the latest supported by your version of LabVIEW and/or run a repair on that driver, reboot your computer and try again. Let me know how it goes.

Definitely repair or reinstall the latest version of NI-VISA 4.5 (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1267/lang/en).

I would also suggest that you are using Agilent IO Libraries Suite 15.1, which is the latest (www.agilent.com/find/iosuitedownload)

This error really points to a NI-MAX/NI-VISA problem though, don't think its your version of Agilent IO Libraries.

Matt/Alan,
I apologize for the delayed response but I wanted to let that your advice helped me to get
things configured in our labs. Test equipment in our labs is now able to be automated using
LabView.

Thanks for the advice!
