Object oriented modeling tool for creating a model running on Veristand real-time target

We are looking for a tool that allows us to create a model (with hydraulic and mechanical components), which can be run on a Veristand real-time target. The tool should support object oriented modeling (not just signal oriented modeling).

By reading some documentation, I'm certain that SimulationX supports a dll-Export explicitly designed for Veristand. Alternatives may be Matlab/Simulink (including SimMechanics, SimHydraulics, Real-Time Workshop), Dymola or MapleSim (and perhaps others).

Has anyone some experience with a similar task and can recommend a tool or run into problems with one of the mentioned tools?

Hi,

These are the supported modeling environments:

•The MathWorks, Inc. Simulink® software
•LabVIEW
•LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module
•MapleSim models from Maplesoft
•SimulationX from ITI
•GT-POWER engine models from Gamma Technologies Inc.
•Tesis DYNAWare models
•NI MATRIXx SystemBuild
•Esterel SCADE Suite
•C/C++/FORTRAN/Ada
I would prefer LabVIEW, because it's easy to create models and if you need Custom Devices you don't need to use a second development environment. Labview can create models and custom devices! Anyway Matrixx and Simulink are good modeling envireonments as well.

Hi,

thanks for your answer. But is there really the possibility of object oriented modeling in LabView? Is there a hydraulics library for example?

I am not certain, if "object oriented modeling" is a generally known term: In this article there is a nice comparison of what I call object oriented modeling and signal oriented modeling.

LabVIEW has several toolkits but not for hydraulics. SimulationX includes a hydraulics library. By the way: ITI is an Alliance Partner of NI.
