Announcing VeriStand 2023 Q1

It is my pleasure to announce the release of VeriStand 2023 Q1 and related ecosystem packages and utilities.

Release Notes | New Features

This major version release includes several notable new features including:

LabVIEW 2023 Q1 Support
VeriStand 2023 Q1 requires LabVIEW 2023 Q1 64-bit for custom devices, LabVIEW models, and LabVIEW applications that utilize the VeriStand API. Since the CompactRIO and R-Series drivers support 64-bit LabVIEW RT & FPGA 2023 Q1, users can now standardize on 64-bit LabVIEW for the vast majority of their development.

External Mode with XCP Communication
Building off of 2021 R3's preliminary release of external mode debugging via TCP, users can now enable it and debug via XCP. This provides additional capabilities such as viewing signals within referenced models. Detailed documentation is provided in the toolbox.

HDL Coder Support for PXIe R-Series Kintex-7 modules and Simscape Models

  • Building off the initial release, the HDL Coder Support Package for NI FPGA Hardware now supports all modern NI R-Series modules, instead of just the initial support for PXIe-7867/8.
  • Simscape models that are made to be HDL Coder-compatible will now be able to be used in this workflow.
Terminal Specification for DAQmx Counter Operations
VeriStand now exposes a setting to specify the terminals for DAQmx counter tasks so that customers can use all counters through non-default PFI lines.
