Recent progress in developing appropriate mathematical constructs, solvers, and frameworks is addressing the unique challenges of high-fidelity, high-speed real-time simulation of grid-tied switched-mode power converters and power grids using hybrid FPGA and digital signal processing devices. Graphical FPGA programming tools have also enabled the development of advanced phasor measurement unit algorithms suitable for distribution control systems. At this session, examine advanced LabVIEW FPGA applications for creating an ultrahigh-speed real-time power grid and power system simulator and advanced phasor measurement units.
