In order to test effects on system behavior I have been experimenting with process priority settings. I noticed that neither SeqEdit nor TestExec (the C# variant) allow their priority to be set to "real time". I have tried it through TaskMgr and through ProcessExplorer (where it has the bizarre effect to set the priority to "Background").
Is this behavior by design?

My mistake, sorry. Have to check "Show processes from all users" to elevate TaskMgr. Then it works.
As an aside: setting SeqEdit/TestExec to High Priority was an improvement in our project. Cycle time was more stable. Realtime did not seem detrimental in a short test but also did not seem to improve time stability much further.
