usb 6008 not working above 35 Celcius

Hi,

I am using a USB-6008 to drive a ULQ-2003 which in turn drives relays. I am using the 5 volts from the USB-6008 and never use more than 60ma. I have noticed that when the temperature around the USB-6008 gets above 35 Celcius my program fails and I have to unplug the USB cable to reset the USB-6008. I was wondering if there may be a way to programmatically reset like the plug and unplug does, and also if anyone has any insight to as why I am failing below the normal operation of 50 Celcius.

Thanks,

Lee

Hello Lee,

As for the failure at 35 degrees C, there isn't much I can say without more information on the environment (humidity, altitude, air quality, electrical noise, magnetic fields, etc.), but I can give some information on the other part.

In order to successfully reset your device and allow it to be reconfigured you just have to call the DAQmx Reset Device VI. If this fails to give you control of your device it may be due to an issue with older versions of NI-DAQmx. You can try upgrading to the newest version of NI-DAQmx if you are unable to regain control of your device with the DAQmx Reset Device.

The current version of DAQmx is NI-DAQmx 9.1. Remember, before installing any driver update check the readme first to ensure that the new driver is compatible with your current system, version of LabVIEW, etc.

Regards,
Dan King
