max database corrupted at every startup

On a computer running under Win XP and with several older LabView versions installed (7.1, 8.5, 8.5.1, 2009) I installed LabVIEW 2010 including the device drivers from August 2010 / DAQmx 9.2.1.

Since then, the Measurement & Automation Explorer is having problems: when being started, it stalls in the state "Initialising" for several minutes. When it is finally started, it does not respond to user input and gives a message indicating an error when connecting to the database.

After deleting the MAX database (see http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/86256F0E001DA9FF86256FFD005B827C?OpenDocument) and restarting the computer, MAX working properly. However, after having working with my LabVIEW application and shutting down / restarting the computer, the same problem with a stalling MAX occurs again.

So, as I interpret it, the MAX database is corrupted again after everytime I have deleted it.

I attached the files of the MAX "last" and "data" folder, as described in the link above.

What could I do to solve this problem permanently?

I'm not certain if this is related, but 9.1 to 9.2.1 had some issues with database corruption, there is a patch, see here:

Hi There,

this is s a bit weird, normally if you resolve the corruption it should work again properly.

Check out this tool if it helps:
