lack of hardware recognition

When I connect chassis cDAQ-9172 with module 9215 & 3 other modules to the computer via the USB port, the computer loads the drivers for the 9172 (no applications were running).  A window opens and I select "take measurements with Signal Espress".  An image of the chassis appears but no modules are displayed for selection.  I want to use the 9215 analog input which is installed in the chassis.

When I first open Signal Express and select  Add Step then select acquire then select DAQmx then select Analog then select Voltage.  After waiting a window opens an says "no supported devices found".

Yesterday I was using Singal Express with the 9215 analog input in the USB Carrier USB-9162.  This indicates the program and module work.

How do I get the system to recognise modules in the chassis?

Open Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), expand My System and Devices and Interfaces.  Is the 9172 listed? Expand the chassis and see if the modules are listed.  What version of DAQmx are you using?  Is this the first time you have use the cDAQ-9172?
