amd fx-55 incompatibility

I have a system constructed around the AMD FX-55 64-bit processor. I am running Windows XP 32-bit OS. The NI 6024E DAQ card I have installed will cause the system to hang on boot-up for a long time - sometimes indefinately. Any ideas why this would be a problem under 32-bit? I've seen comments about not NI hardware not being supported under 64-bit OS, but nothing about compatibility with the 32-bit version...

Howdy Arron,
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?  Sometimes a bad installation could cause the symptoms you describe.

Otherwise it may be helpful if you can give more details about the hang.  When does it hang (is the screen blank, blue ...)?  Does it happen in Safe Mode (press F8 at boot to select safe mode)?  If you remove the DAQ board, does it go away?  Safe Mode both with and without the board?

Do you see any interesting messages in the Event Viewer?  Perhaps from niXXXX?

NI performs limited testing with AMD products including a small variety of Athlon 64 and Opteron processors.  I doubt that the processor is the cause on the issue you are describing, and I would look at the motherboard, chipset, and BIOS.
