Greetings everybody,
I need a PCI DAQ card with some specs including both digital and analog triggering feature.
Tow many hours on the site now to determine wither PCI 6221 have analog and digital triggering or not!
I'm confused >>
The Product specs comparison page says: It have both digital and analog triggering. (Please see the screen shot attached)
while this page only says that: It have digital triggering.
So which one is the correct ?!

Hi Ayman-The PCI-6221 (and the entire 622X series) do not support analog triggering. I'll make sure that page gets updated- sorry for the confusion. If you need analog triggering with similar hardware capabilities to the NI 6221, I would suggest the PCI-6251.Thanks-

Hi Ayman-
That cable/connector block combination will work perfectly with any M Series card. Let me know if I can help out in any other way.
Thanks-

Thanks alot Tom, I appreciate your help.
Well, It's the first time I use triggering in my DAS application.
I need to know the difference between external and internal triggering.
Also, Please correct me if I'm wrong on this:
Using PCI 6251 I can do the following:
1) I can utilize the "Digital triggering" by using a PLC digital output to trigger the data acquisition.
2) I can utilize the "Analog triggering" by using a setting the PCI Daq card to certain set point and when the analog input connected to the specified channel for this exceeds this set point, the data acquisition will start.
If I'm correct in these, Does the PCI card have a "buffer" or something to hold these acquired data at high sample rate so my software can then retrieve these data ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ayman,
You are correct about the digital and analog triggers. You are also correct about the buffer configuration. I recommend taking a look at the NI-DAQmx Help. It has detailed sections about buffers and triggering. You can find this by going to Start >> All Programs >> National Instruments >> NI-DAQ >> NI-DAQmx Help.
The information on buffers is located in NI-DAQmx Key Concepts >> Reading and Writing Data >> Buffering, and the information on triggering is in NI-DAQmx Key Concepts >> Timing and Triggering >> Triggers.
