Hysteresis

I am trying to figure out how to build this on labview.

Create a system that:

  • If the heater is already ON (shift register) turns it OFF when room temp reaches Setpoint + Hysteresis
  • If the heater is already OFF (shift register) turns it ON when room temp reaches Setpoint - Hysteresis

This is a homework assignment, right?   How much farther have you gotten?

Maybe it'll help to talk through your thought process here so someone can give you useful hints or nudges in the right direction.

CAUTION! New LabVIEW adopters -- it's too late for me, but you *can* save yourself. The new subscription policy for LabVIEW puts NI's hand in your wallet for the rest of your working life. Are you sure you're *that* dedicated to LabVIEW? (Summary of my reasons in this post, part of a voluminous thread of mostly complaints starting here).
