6025E DI is always ON

6025E DI is always ON !

I configured DIO to DIP0, PA to DIPA, PB to DOPB, and PC to DOPC under MAX, only DOPB and DOPC is inverted. Test in the MAX shows all DIP0 and DIPA is ON, even there is no connection. I checked voltage, it shows 5 volt. Is this Normal? Please tell me what I have to check it or change the board.

Thanks in Advance

When a port is set to input with no connection attached, they should read +5V. Each line is pulled high through a 50k or 100k resistor depending on the port. Please see page A-7 in the 6025E User Manual for more information.

Thank you

I am really appreciating your help on this problem.

Can you please confirm my understanding? I am going to make a switch (or DRY Contact) between DIO0 and DGND/ DIO2 and DGND for digital inputs.

Do you think it will work and OK?

Thanks in advance.

This should work fine. Depending on how fast you need to poll the switch and how often the it will change states, you may want to use a debounced switch to preven false readings. However, under most circumstances this is not necessary and even something as crude as just touching two wires together will work well.

Brent
