I have a robotics test kit 2.0 which I have programed to remotely (unteathered) move and record its movements. How do I retrieve the data?

open a file, store data, close a file but it will have to be done on the sbrio card,
then data retrieved somehow, if I hook up the cable will it be recognized or do I need to turn off the bot which will cause everything to be reset?
store data to the serial port? with a usb converter cable to plug in a usb flash drive?
then when I want to see data remove flash drive and can look at any computer? That sound like an idea?
thanks,
