Is there a way to read file metadata in LabVIEW?  If I was looking at an executable and wanted to retrieve the version number (that shows up when you look at the file's properties in windows), how would I do it in LabVIEW?

Thanks.  I should have clarified this earlier but I'm not asking about an executable or a VI that is built using LabVIEW.  What if I was looking at an exe or a dll built using something else.

I would think this could be done with an ActiveX control.  I browsed MSDN but couldnt really find anything.  I'll look around some more, but I am sure something is out there.
