firewire hard disk with cvs1450

i have connected a firewire harddisk to one of the iee 1394 inputs of
the cvs1450. i have checked in max under remote systems, cvs1450 that
the ni-1394 external drive support software is installed but no harddisk
appears under devices and interfaces neither can access harddisk via the
file transfer utility from max.

am i doing something wrong?
what i need to access to this harddisk programmatically from labview?
does the harddrive requires a specific format?

i have not found in documentation anything related to this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi peancor -

If you've gone through the External Drive Support article and still cannot see your drive, I recommend checking the FireWire bridge chipset in the drive.  This article gives a partial list of chipsets known to have SBP2 support:  Firewire (IEEE-1394) Hard-drive Enclosure Compatibility with Real-Time Controllers.
