error for particle recognition and motion response

hello,

i am getting the following error message:

Error -1073807339 occurred at VISA Write in linear distance start.vi->motion response to molecule movement.vi

from using the attached two VIs. If anyone could please explain what value is > or has any suggestions on what to correct, that would be greatly appreciated.

That's a timeout error. Since it happens on the VISA Write, you might want to verify the serial settings, especially flow control. You've got it set for XON/XOFF. Try communicating to the instrument with Hyperterminal with those settings and see if it works.

Thanks; I switched the flow control to 0 and now the program works fine.
